Stuff the Stocking returns for its eighth edition this December to help collect donations for those in need. This year’s event will support the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Orchards Children’s Services.
Both organizations provide important services to people throughout the year and demand for assistance is particularly high during the holiday season.
This year’s event will be hosted at Tracey’s Corner Cafe who will also offer $1 off of all coffee drinks to those that donate to the cause.
The event will feature some of the Detroit areas finest performers, some new to the event and some veterans from the past Stuff the Stockings.
Cello-Bella make their debut Stuff the Stocking performance, bringing their eclectic sound and unique interpretations of jazz, swing, and pop standards from the 20s to the current day.
Stuff the Stocking veteran Dave Martin, host of the Tuesday Night Open Mic at Tracey’s and guitar/vocalist of the Clay Adams Band, will perform a solo set of songs about heartache and happiness.
2009 and 2010 Detroit Music Award’s Outstanding Acoustic Songwriter award recipient Emily Rose returns to the Stuff the Stocking stage to showcase her incredible singer/songwriter talents.
Greater Alexander will bring his unique voice and finger picking skills to the stage for his first Stuff the Stocking performance. He’ll likely perform songs from his upcoming debut full length release, Positive Love.
J Peters will perform his provocative, yet lighthearted, poetry for the first time at a Stuff the Stocking event.
Tone and Niche, will take the stage for a rare acoustic performance of originals, covers and holiday classics. This will be Tone and Niche’s sixth Stuff the Stocking performance and one of their last performances of 2012 as they gear up for an exciting 2013.
Aside from excellent live performances from some of the areas finest musicians, the event will also feature music and cafe’ raffles, cookie decorating and jewelry sold by BlackenedRuby Jewelry.
So come out and be a part a night of music, art and giving.
The event is a great way to help those in need as we enter the 2012 Holiday Season!
